Sr Technical Consultant - Cloud - Linux, RHEL/OEL/Ubuntu, LVM, Shell Scripting

Scope

We are looking for a skilled

Linux Systems Engineer

to administer, maintain, and enhance our Linux-based infrastructure. The role involves managing various Linux distributions, ensuring system stability, automating operational tasks, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to support business-critical applications.

What You'll Do

• System Administration
• Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, SUSE).
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and security settings.
• Administer storage, LVM, and file systems (ext4, xfs, etc.).
• Operations & Maintenance
• Perform OS patching, upgrades, and kernel tuning.
• Monitor system health, troubleshoot issues, and optimize performance.
• Maintain backup and disaster recovery procedures.
• Security & Compliance
• Implement OS hardening best practices.
• Apply security patches and monitor for vulnerabilities.
• Automation & Scripting
• Develop and maintain scripts in Bash, Python, or Ansible for automation.
• Support infrastructure-as-code deployments.
• Collaboration
• Work with application, database, and DevOps teams for Linux-based deployments.
• Provide on-call support for critical issues.
  

What We Are Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
• 3 to 8 years of Linux server administration in enterprise environments.
• Strong skills in RHEL/CentOS administration, including systemd, networking, and storage.
• Proficiency in Bash scripting and familiarity with Python or Ansible.
• Experience with monitoring tools (Nagios, Zabbix, Prometheus, etc.).
• Understanding of ITIL processes.
• Support (24 x 7 support) shift rotation, work weekends and evenings
• Team player, fast learner, work in a fasted paced environment and share knowledge.
