Sr. Software Engineer/Lead-(Java with Analytics)

As a Senior Backend and Infra Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and delivering secure, distributed, scalable, and fault-tolerant services, end-user applications, and APIs. You will work on cloud-hosted (AWS) SaaS systems, focusing on automation and agile engineering practices. Your role will involve working on complex, event-driven services and ensuring code quality, scalability, latency, and platform stability. **Responsibilities:** - Work with architects and stakeholders to refine requirements, propose technical solutions, and provide estimates. - Implement solutions with a focus on efficiency and quality. - Take ownership of implemented solutions, supporting them from proof of concept to production deployment. - Emphasize running software in production by defining monitoring/alerting specifications and enhancing observability. - Mentor junior team members and be a center of competence on product components. - Participate in code reviews and other activities to enhance the quality of Engage products. **Qualifications:** - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field or equivalent experience. - 8+ years of experience in software development, building backend services and APIs. - Track record of delivering event-driven, scalable, resilient commercial cloud services. - Proficiency in Java development, including Java Core, Collections, Multithreading, and Java Memory Model. - Deep understanding of microservices architecture, event-driven system design, distributed systems, and eventual consistency principles. - Experience with REST services, including REST manifesto, stateful/stateless services, and load balancing strategies. - Strong RDBMS skills, including writing advanced queries, designing table structures, and query optimization. - Hands-on experience with at least one public cloud platform, preferably AWS. - Proficiency in Kubernetes (K8S), including kubectl, K8S types, and Helm. - Experience with Big Data technologies and Cloud-based CI/CD methodologies. - Hands-on experience deploying applications using Kubernetes. - Familiarity with Kafka or other messaging queues.
