Sr. Software Engineer in Test

In this role as a Senior Analyst / Senior Software Test Engineer at Daxko, you will be collaborating closely with small cross-functional teams to deliver high-value features in short iterations. Your expertise will be highly valued as you proactively identify and mitigate risks, test features effectively in an Agile environment, and come up with creative solutions to complex testing problems. You will also play a key role in defining acceptance criteria for user stories, breaking down large user stories, planning testing activities, and executing exploratory tests based on acceptance criteria. Additionally, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining manual test cases, assisting in building and maintaining testing environments, and staying updated on new testing technologies and tools. Key Responsibilities: - Serve as a testing coach for the team - Proactively mitigate risks for planned epics and projects - Work autonomously to test features and document results in an Agile environment - Collaborate with team members to deliver customer value and learn from feedback - Come up with innovative solutions to complex testing problems - Evaluate and define acceptance criteria for user stories - Analyze and break down large user stories into smaller, more manageable ones - Plan and execute testing activities for selected user stories each sprint - Develop effective testing strategy and conduct exploratory tests based on acceptance criteria - Develop and maintain manual test cases for complex scenarios - Assist in building and maintaining testing environments - Attend project meetings, provide technical expertise, and identify obstacles - Serve as a subject matter expert on the product and related technologies - Research new testing technologies and tools Qualifications: - Post-graduate diploma or Coding Bootcamp in Information Technology and Computer Science - Six (6+) plus years of relevant experience - Ability to apply systems thinking to the entire software development lifecycle - Ability to define and implement test strategies for complex product features - Solid understanding of technologies used on projects and their integration - Ability to track, prioritize, and report software defects - Strong understanding of Software Quality Assurance processes and tools - Passion for software testing and technology - Ability to mentor junior test engineers and guide them on best practices - Excellent communication, time management, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills - Ability to prioritize tasks and function well in a high-paced environment Preferred Qualifications: - Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure) - Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) - Understanding of CI/CD pipelines Daxko is dedicated to fostering a diverse workforce to bring in a variety of perspectives and experiences that contribute to the success of the organization's purpose and values.
