SR. POWER ELECTRONICS SEMICONDUCTOR APPLICATION ENGINEER

Role Overview: You will be working as a Sr. Power Electronics Semiconductor Application Engineer at Jaguar Land Rover, a company known for its innovation, trust, and pioneering spirit. Your role will involve demonstrating in-depth knowledge and understanding of power electronic components and principles, as well as expertise in power semiconductor device characterization. Your responsibilities will include designing gate drivers, simulating power semiconductor devices, and developing test benches for functional evaluation. You will also be involved in building and modeling high-voltage power electronics systems within an electrical powertrain. Your role will require problem-solving expertise in power electronics quality issues for xHEV and BEV vehicles. Key Responsibilities: - Demonstrate in-depth knowledge and understanding of power electronic components and principles - Design gate drivers optimized for performance, cost, and modularity - Simulate power semiconductor devices for power electronics applications - Develop test benches for functional evaluation of power modules/discretes - Build and model high-voltage power electronics systems within an electrical powertrain - Provide problem-solving expertise in power electronics quality issues for xHEV and BEV vehicles - Collaborate with HV Design & Test Team, LV Design & Test Team, Product Owners & Scrum Master, Systems Engineering Team, Embedded SW Team, Mechanical Design Team, Thermal Team, HV System Team, and Materials Team Qualifications Required: - In-depth knowledge and understanding of power electronic components and principles - Strong expertise in power semiconductor device characterization - Proficiency in simulating power semiconductor devices for power electronics applications - Hands-on experience in designing and preparing power stacks for prototypes - Bachelor's in Electrical or Electronics Engineering (essential) - Master's degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering (desirable) - 5+ years of experience in semiconductors and power electronics design (desirable) - Understanding of high-voltage and high-current PCB design Additional Details: Jaguar Land Rover is looking for an individual with a customer-first mindset, driven to deliver personalized, transparent, and dependable experiences.
