You will be joining Jaguar Land Rover, an innovative, trusted, and pioneering company known for its performance, luxury, and excellence across all products. As a Sr. Power Electronics Semiconductor Application Engineer, you are expected to have 6-12 years of experience and possess certain skills, experience, and qualifications: - Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of power electronic components and principles. - Expertise in power semiconductor device characterization, with the ability to evaluate device performance. - Experience with Si, SiC MOSFETs/JFETs, GaN, and other wide bandgap devices preferred. - Proficiency in simulating power semiconductor devices for power electronics applications. - Deep understanding of power modules/discretes, including die construction, packaging, materials, and parasitics. - Design gate drivers optimized for performance, cost, and modularity. - Hands-on experience in designing and preparing power stacks for prototypes. - Develop test benches for functional evaluation of power modules/discretes. - Build and model high-voltage power electronics systems within an electrical powertrain. - Experience in electrical modeling, including inverters, DC-DC converters, OBC, BMS, and power supplies. - Solve power electronics quality issues for xHEV and BEV vehicles. - Proficiency in simulation tools such as PSpice, LTSpice, MATLAB, or PSIM. - Hold a Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering. Desirable qualifications include: - Master's degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering. - 5+ years of experience in semiconductors and power electronics design. - Solid understanding of power semiconductor devices and their physics. - Experience in power loss calculations, parameterization, and 1D thermal modeling. - Work experience in high-voltage and high-current systems. - Familiarity with e-circuit breakers, e-fuses, and DC-DC converter design. - Hands-on experience with inverters, DC-DC converters, OBC, BMS, and power supplies. - Knowledge of EMI/EMC considerations in power electronics design. - Understanding of high-voltage and high-current PCB design. Key Interactions will involve collaborating with various teams such as HV Design & Test Team, LV Design & Test Team, Product Owners & Scrum Master, Systems Engineering Team, Embedded SW Team, Mechanical Design Team, Thermal Team, HV System Team, and Materials Team.
