Sr. PHP & Java Developer

Role Overview: You will be joining a dynamic third-party logistics technology company as a Senior Developer, where your primary focus will be on supporting and refactoring the legacy PHP platform. Your expertise in PHP and Java will be essential in improving the code quality, performance, and maintainability of the existing system. As part of a full-stack remote team, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions for global logistics operations. Key Responsibilities: - Support and Maintenance: Provide continuous support for the legacy PHP platform to ensure its stability and optimal performance. - Refactoring: Lead efforts to enhance code quality and maintainability by refactoring legacy monolithic applications to modern codebase. - Code Reviews: Conduct thorough code reviews and offer mentorship to junior developers within the team. - Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, designers, and other developers to deliver innovative software solutions. - Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of the codebase and all refactoring activities. - Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve issues in the legacy system promptly to ensure smooth operations. - Integration: Utilize your experience in integrating with 3rd-party webservices using SOAP and REST, JSON, XML, and common APIs. - Development: Develop Java Microservices using Lambda and implement RESTful APIs with a focus on design and implementation. - Technical Skills: Utilize your expertise with AWS Cloud Infrastructure, GitHub, MySQL Databases with Aurora, and Agile procedures. - Qualifications Required: - 8+ years of software development experience with PHP - 3+ years of experience with Java - 4+ years of experience integrating with 3rd-party webservices SOAP and REST using JSON and XML, along with common APIs - Proven experience in developing Java Microservices using Lambda - Experience with AWS Cloud Infrastructure, Java Microservices, GitHub, MySQL Databases with Aurora - Proven experience of RESTful API implementation Design and Implementation - Exposure to Agile procedures including coordinating all ceremonies using Jira - Work independently under minimal supervision - BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related subject Note: Desirable qualifications include previous experience in the transport or logistics industry, experience with multi-country enterprise environments, and knowledge of DevOps practices using Jenkins and AWS Code Deploy.,
