Role Overview: As a Senior Nursing Aide Per Diem at EC Telemetry in the East Campus Medical Center, you will be working under the supervision of a Registered Nurse to provide basic patient care and assistance with activities of daily living. Your responsibilities will include performing uncomplicated technical procedures, participating in performance improvement activities, utilizing various technical equipment and supplies, and providing support in patient care tasks such as transport, specimen handling, and inventory management. Additionally, you will cross train to the role of a Hospital Unit Secretary, requiring initiative, prioritization skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Key Responsibilities: - Support the continuum of care by providing basic patient care and assisting with activities of daily living - Perform uncomplicated technical procedures - Participate in performance improvement activities such as chart audits - Utilize a variety of technical equipment and supplies - Provide patient care support including transport, specimen handling, and inventory management - Cross train to the role of a Hospital Unit Secretary - Work collaboratively in a team environment, including training and evaluating peers, scheduling work, and assisting with administrative functions Qualifications Required: - Active California CNA license - BART or BLS certification at the time of hire with a commitment to obtain BART within six months of hire date - One or more years of CNA experience in an acute care setting - Demonstrated ability to observe deviations from normal - Preferred: Previous acute care experience, experience with Epic, UCSD Paging & Scheduling Systems, knowledge of medical terminology or certificate of medical terminology training, bilingual in Spanish/English Company Details: UC San Diego Health is the only academic health system in the San Diego region, offering leading-edge care in patient care, biomedical research, education, and community service.
