Sr. NoSQL Engineer/Administrator

As a Senior Database Engineer at R1, you will play a crucial role in administering and maintaining NoSQL and relational SQL Server/MySQL Databases. Your responsibilities will include creating, monitoring, and optimizing multiple Elasticsearch, MongoDB, Cosmos, and Couchbase environments. You will collaborate with development teams to design and implement efficient NoSQL databases and assist in application development for problem-solving and performance tuning. Additionally, you will be tasked with administering, monitoring, and maintaining SQL Server environments, including disaster recovery, and working on logical/physical database designs for applications and infrastructure. You should possess at least 8 years of experience in Database, Data Management, or Engineering roles, with 6+ years of progressive experience in high-volume data administration and 3 years working with Microsoft Azure Cloud technologies. Your expertise should include managing NoSQL databases like Couchbase, MongoDB, CosmosDB, and experience with ElasticSearch. Proficiency in performance tuning, database monitoring, and troubleshooting performance issues with NoSQL databases is essential for this role. Desired technical skills include the ability to recommend configuration changes for optimal performance, data modeling, and strong expertise in relational databases like Microsoft SQL Server and MySQL. Experience with Azure database technologies and translating environments into Azure Managed Instance will be advantageous. Certifications in Azure/SQL Server/NoSQL, experience with Postgres and MySQL, and knowledge of SQL monitoring tools are considered nice-to-haves for this position.
