As a Senior Manager of Software Engineering at UKG, you will play a critical role in leading a team of talented engineers towards technical excellence and successful project delivery. Here's what you will be responsible for: Responsibilities: - Provide technical leadership for major projects, ensuring alignment with business goals and industry best practices. - Actively participate in design and architecture decisions, code reviews, and optimization of code. - Maintain high standards of performance, scalability, and reliability in software systems and applications. - Enforce engineering best practices such as documentation, automation, and security principles. - Ensure the health and quality of services, proactively identifying and addressing issues. - Lead and manage a team of software engineers, conducting performance reviews and supporting professional development. - Foster a culture of service ownership and enhance team engagement. - Drive succession planning and engineering efficiency through data-driven approaches. - Provide technical mentorship and guidance to engineers, fostering a culture of learning and collaboration. - Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of high-impact software projects, ensuring timely completion within budget. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery and alignment with business needs. Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience. - 14+ years of experience in software development, with 5+ years in a technical leadership role and 4+ years in a people management role. - Deep expertise in programming languages such as C, C++, C#, .NET, Python, Java, or JavaScript. - Strong understanding of cloud technologies and DevOps principles. - Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, communication, and leadership abilities.
