Title: Senior Manager - Network Architect (SD-WAN, Security & Infrastructure) Location:/Mumbai (Powai)- Work From Office Reports to: VP/AVP - Network & Communication Team: Network & Communication - Strategy & Architecture Summary: 1) The Senior Manager Network Architect will lead the design, strategy, and governance of the enterprise network infrastructure with a strong focus on SD-WAN, security, and observability. 2) Responsible for detailed documentation (HLD, LLD, SOP, MOP) and defining network architecture aligned with organizational and compliance goals. 3) Act as a technology leader, guiding cross-functional teams in operational troubleshooting and vendor management. 4) Must bring deep understanding of security best practices, application-aware networking, and hands-on experience in SD-WAN deployments. 5) Evaluate vendor solutions and lead procurement lifecycle including RFP/RFI creation, proposal evaluation, and PoC execution. 6) Provide training, mentoring, and governance across multiple network and infrastructure teams. (a) Responsibilities: 1. Architect, plan and evolve enterprise-grade SD-WAN networks across core, branch, and data center environments. 2. Lead creation of comprehensive network documentation including HLDs, LLDs, SOPs, MOPs, and implementation runbooks. 3. Provide technical guidance and participate in root cause analysis during major incident triage. 4. Evaluate and select network and observability vendorsown the entire RFP/RFI lifecycle including PoC design and benchmarking. 5. Drive network observability standards (logs, traces, metrics) and integrate with APM/NPM tools. 6. Coordinate with application, security, and cloud teams to ensure network readiness and secure connectivity. 7. Define and implement network security architecture in coordination with SOC, including segmentation, ZTA, firewall rules, and NDR integration. 8. Ensure high availability, performance, and compliance of the enterprise WAN, LAN, and internet edge. 9. Lead change control activities and provide oversight on implementation by operations teams. 10. Train internal teams and document technical lessons learned, standards, and design decisions. 11. Work closely with audit, risk, and compliance teams to ensure architecture meets regulatory mandates. 12. Develop roadmaps for legacy migration, SD-WAN expansion, and application-aware networking. Requirements (a) Education: B.E/B.Tech/M.Tech/MCA (Computer Science/IT/ECE) or equivalent (b) Experience: 1) 10 Plus years of experience in enterprise networking with at least 5 years in architecture roles. 2) Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in architecting and deploying SD-WAN solutions (Cisco Viptela, Versa, Fortinet, or similar). 3) Proven experience in the BFSI sector or highly regulated environments Mandatory. 4) Strong knowledge of RFP/RFI process, vendor engagement, and cost modeling Mandatory. 5) Expert-level understanding of L2/L3 networking, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), MPLS, NAT, QoS. 6) Good working knowledge of application protocols (HTTP/S, DNS, LDAP, NTP) and application architectures. 7) Solid knowledge of security domains: firewalls, VPNs, segmentation, SSL decryption, DDoS, and ZTNA. 8) Working knowledge of monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, AppDynamics, SolarWinds, etc.). 9) Experience working with documentation standards and processes for MOPs, SOPs, and architectural reviews. 10) Experience guiding operational teams and resolving escalated incidents and RCA Mandatory. 11) Good scripting knowledge for automation (Python/Ansible preferred). 12) Strong interpersonal skills and ability to influence across technical and business teams. (c) Certifications: 1) CCIE, CCNP-Enterprise, or equivalent Mandatory 2) ITIL v4 Foundation / PMP / TOGAF – Desirable 3) Versa/Cisco SD-WAN Certifications – Preferred (d) Knowledge: 1) Strong knowledge of SD-WAN, segmentation, routing design, and secure overlay concepts – Mandatory 2) Understanding of ITIL, change management, incident management, and RCA processes – Mandatory 3) Familiarity with observability stacks (logs/metrics/traces), SNMP, flow monitoring, NetFlow/IPFIX – Desirable 4) Awareness of security compliance standards such as ISO27001, RBI Guidelines, and GDPR – Desirable (e) Skills and Competencies: 1) Excellent technical writing and documentation skills – Mandatory 2) Ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders – Mandatory 3) Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities – Mandatory 4) Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize under pressure 5) Strong communication and presentation skills to senior leadership 6) Knowledge of service provider WAN services (MPLS, point-to-point, DIA) – Mandatory 7) Hands-on experience with PoC evaluation, benchmarking, and vendor comparisons 8) Experience with capacity planning, cost modeling, and solution lifecycle
