Sr. Electrical Engineer- QRT

Role & responsibilities

1. Conduct detailed electrical site audits and inspections.

2. Identify system gaps, safety issues, and recommend corrective actions.

3. Perform system studies including load flow, short circuit, relay coordination etc.

4. Utilize simulation tools like ETAP for analysis and reporting.

5. Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for equipment failures, faults, and tripping incidents.

6. Finalize RCA reports with technical recommendations and preventive actions.

7. Manage and execute electrical projects from planning to commissioning.

8. Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and internal teams for timely project delivery.

9. Support proposal and tender teams with technical inputs and BOQs.

10. Prepare cost estimates and evaluate vendor quotations for electrical scope.

11. Troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime and ensure system reliability.

12. To Support at planned and unplanned maintenance at various site

13. To assist to prepare monthly report of electrical maintenance of power plant as per prescribed format.

14. To guide the operating personnel so as to operate the plant economically and efficiently.

Preferred candidate profile

Critical Competencies on the Job:

Electrical maintenance of motors, transformers, breakers, relays, MCCs

HT/LT switchgear and switchyard operations

Fault diagnosis and Root Cause Analysis (RCA)

Relay coordination and protection systems

Load flow, short circuit studies (ETAP or similar tools)

Testing: IR, HV, relay, transformer oil, etc.

Reading SLDs, control wiring, and electrical schematics

Energy metering and load management

Safety compliance as per IE rules and CEA norms

Support in electrical project execution and commissioning
