**Job Description** **Role Overview:** As a part of Lowes, you will play a key role in providing deep technical leadership for developing cutting-edge data science, machine learning, and deep learning solutions to address retail challenges on a large scale. Your responsibilities will involve collaborating closely with engineering, product management, and business partner teams to deliver strategic and technical leadership, research, and production-ready implementations. **Key Responsibilities:** - Effectively manage a highly qualified team of data scientists, including directors and managers, to drive impactful outcomes. - Anticipate future business needs, implement strategic frameworks, and develop staff accordingly to deal with ambiguity. - Translate business challenges into project ideas, manage data science projects, and work with engineering leadership to deploy models at scale within specified timelines and with high quality. - Build, coach, and mentor a strong team of Data Science professionals with varying expertise levels to develop the next set of leaders for the organization. - Collaborate with cross-functional groups, stakeholders, and leadership to deliver actionable insights and AI-enabled products to enhance store operations, safety, product data quality, and customer shopping experience. - Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to explore their potential application in the home improvement domain. - Partner with Product, Engineering, Business, and Operations leadership to formulate roadmaps, influence decision-making, and drive prioritization. - Provide input for departmental budgeting and forecasting, managing expenses associated with initiatives within your area of responsibility. **Qualification Required:** - Bachelors degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, Data or Information Science, or related quantitative analytic field (or equivalent work experience in a related field) is required. - Doctorate Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, Data or Information Science, or related quantitative analytic field is preferred. - 15 years of experience in applied advanced analytics with a few years accepted with a Masters or Doctorate degree. - 5 years of leadership experience with direct report responsibility. - 8 years of experience with advanced data modeling techniques. - 12 years of experience in applied advanced analytics. *Additional Details:* Lowes is a FORTUNE 100 home improvement company with a strong commitment to creating safe, affordable housing, improving community spaces, and providing disaster relief to communities in need.
