Job Description

As the M&A Business Analyst, you will be responsible for sourcing, analyzing, and organizing M&A information in a well-thought-out manner. Your main focus will be on preparing client-ready outputs across various M&A topics. This involves working with large datasets, updating presentations, and handling ad-hoc projects in a fast-paced environment. The data you work on directly impacts revenue generation for the M&A business, client presentations by the investment bank, and discussions by M&A heads. You will collaborate closely with the New York team, necessitating strong written and verbal communication skills. Your role demands a deep understanding of the M&A market, the ability to interpret information effectively, and present it in a client-ready format. Collaboration with partners in the New York and London offices is crucial, with an emphasis on delivering high-quality output and tracking Citi's performance in the market against competitors. Your core responsibilities will include preparing client-ready thematic materials, engaging with Deal Teams in a pre-pitch environment to create bespoke content showcasing Citi's performance, conducting post-deal analysis on various types of M&A transactions, scanning the M&A landscape for new opportunities, maintaining proprietary M&A trend information, collaborating on strategic initiatives to enhance Citi's performance, preparing M&A information leads for global business heads and senior management, sourcing M&A information and providing insights on market trends, creating and updating client-ready presentations, analyzing M&A information to support other related materials, and managing, tracking, and improving Citi M&A's wallet share. To excel in this role, you should possess strong analytical skills to interpret, analyze, summarize, and present information effectively. Proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, and Word is essential, along with prior experience in using Business Intelligence Tools like Tableau or Power BI. A solid understanding of Investment Banking and the M&A sector is required, as well as research skills to gather and comprehend information on M&A deals. Knowledge of financial terms, excellent written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, sound judgment, ability to multitask, work under pressure, and respect for information confidentiality are also key attributes for success. You should hold a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
