Sr. BI Analyst (Analytics & Insights)

As a Senior Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst at Amherst, you will be a key player in turning raw data into actionable insights that drive business decisions. You will collaborate with various business units to gather reporting requirements and offer analytical support. Your responsibilities will include writing and optimizing SQL queries, designing and improving Tableau dashboards, working on data ETL processes, and translating business logic into data-driven solutions. You will also develop new metrics, drive process improvements, conduct in-depth analyses, and document data definitions and business rules. The ideal candidate for this role should have a minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in a BI Analyst or similar position, expertise in SQL and Tableau, and prior experience in the Banking or Financial Services industry. A strong analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, and stakeholder management abilities are essential. A Bachelor's degree in computer science, Statistics, Finance, or a related field is required. In addition to technical skills, soft skills such as problem-solving, critical thinking, communication, teamwork, attention to detail, and the ability to work with complex data sets are highly valued. Proficiency in SQL, Python, VBA, and JavaScript, along with experience in Tableau and other BI tools like Power BI or Looker, is preferred. Exposure to Databricks for building and managing data pipelines and performing advanced analytics is a plus.
