Squad Lead Full Stack

As an Engineering Squad Lead at Modulr, you will play a crucial role in building an autonomous and high-performing squad. Your responsibilities will involve leading a team of approximately six software engineers, managing people development activities, and actively supporting the team through the development process. You will also be responsible for squad planning, ensuring clear responsibilities, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement through agile ceremonies. In addition, you will play a key role in the hiring process, foster a culture of experimentation, and report regularly on the squad's progress. Key Responsibilities: - Manage and lead a squad of approximately six software engineers, overseeing people development activities and performance reviews. - Support the team through each phase of the development process, resolving technical issues and blockers efficiently. - Plan and delegate squad responsibilities to ensure project success. - Conduct agile ceremonies to promote continuous improvement. - Set and track individual/team performance goals for growth and high performance. - Maintain high standards of code quality through code reviews and technical direction. - Participate in the hiring process and represent Modulr's mission and culture. - Foster a culture of experimentation for continuous learning and improvement. - Report regularly on the squad's progress and achievements to promote cross-team learning. Qualification Required: - Expertise in Frontend (Javascript/Typescript & Angular) and Backend (Java, Spring Boot & Hibernate) development. - Strong understanding of HTML, CSS/SCSS, and RESTful APIs. - Experience with Microservices architecture and DevOps practices. - Knowledge of testing methodologies including TDD & BDD. - Previous experience managing technical teams in an agile environment. - Strong problem-solving skills and ability to apply critical thinking.
