Role OverviewAs an EV Service Engineer at Speedloop Auto, you will be the front-line technical expert responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining our electric cargo fleet. You’ll work closely with customers and internal teams to ensure maximum vehicle uptime, safety compliance, and continuous product improvement. Key Responsibilities On-site & Workshop Service: Perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on electric powertrains, battery systems, and vehicle electronics both at customer sites and in our Pune workshop. Fault Diagnosis: Utilize diagnostic tools (e.g., CAN analyzers, multimeters) to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues across high-voltage systems, motors, controllers, and auxiliary electronics. Battery & BMS Management: Monitor and maintain high-voltage battery packs and Battery Management Systems (BMS), including periodic health checks and firmware updates. Customer Interaction: Liaise with fleet managers and drivers to document issues, communicate repair plans, and provide real-time technical support. Spare Parts Coordination: Manage ordering, inventory, and logistics of spares; ensure availability of critical components for timely service. Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate service records, generate incident reports, and update the service knowledge base with root-cause analyses and best practices. Cross-functional Feedback: Collaborate with R&D and Quality teams to relay field data and suggest design or process improvements for reliability and safety. Safety Compliance: Enforce and adhere to all safety protocols, including high-voltage handling procedures, PPE usage, and environmental regulations. Technical Training: Mentor and upskill junior technicians and field service staff through hands-on training sessions and workshops. Qualifications & ExperienceBachelor’s or Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, or Automobile Engineering. 3–5 years of automotive service experience, with at least 1–2 years specifically on electric or hybrid vehicles. Strong understanding of high-voltage electrical systems, battery chemistry, and power electronics. Proficiency in electrical/mechanical schematics reading and diagnostic tool usage. Familiarity with automotive safety standards (e.g., AIS, ISO 26262) and warranty processes. Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within Pune and surrounding areas (up to 20%).
