As a Tech Lead at Nexa, you will be joining us at the ground level of our new venture, founded by Pratik Kapasi and Aditya Kamat. Our mission is to create the most intuitive voice-first AI platform, revolutionizing human-machine interactions through natural, intelligent, and fast conversational interfaces. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, building, and scaling backend and full-stack systems for our voice AI engine. Your primary focus will be on Python for core logic, pipelines, and model integration, while also working with Node.js and React.js for full-stack features. You will lead projects from inception to production deployment, optimizing systems for performance, scale, and real-time processing. Collaboration is key in this role, as you will work closely with the founders, ML engineers, and designers to rapidly prototype and ship features. Additionally, you will set engineering best practices, ensure code quality, and mentor junior team members as the team expands. The ideal candidate will have at least 4 years of experience in Python, with a proven track record of building scalable production systems. You should be adept at leading projects independently, possess a strong foundation in system design, algorithms, and data structures, and have hands-on experience with Node.js and React.js in a production environment. Experience working in early-stage startups, especially during scaling phases, is highly valued, as is the ability to debug and optimize across the full stack. Nice-to-have skills include experience with NLP, speech interfaces, audio processing, cloud platforms (GCP/AWS), CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, contributions to open-source projects or technical blogs, and prior experience integrating ML models into production systems.
