Special Purpose Designer

The role involves designing, developing, modifying, and verifying mechanical components for medical devices under supervision. You will be responsible for assisting with prototyping and bench testing, as well as supporting engineering, manufacturing, and supplier changes by creating essential documents such as ECO, MCO, ECRs, etc. Additionally, you will be required to create or update engineering drawings, assembly plans, and DHDs as per project requirements. Problem-solving, root cause analysis, identifying potential solutions, and evaluating them against requirements will also be part of your responsibilities. Furthermore, you will conduct research and studies to support product design under supervision. In terms of business responsibilities, you are expected to interpret customer needs and understand design inputs. You should have a good grasp of fundamental industry standards, design requirements, and test strategies that align with regulatory requirements. You will work with supervision to create or refine engineering documentation, such as the Design History File, per company design control procedures. It is essential to learn R&D procedures like design controls and risk management as per the Quality Management System. Your general responsibilities will include collaborating with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, and Project Management to ensure project success under supervision. You will be required to learn procedures, policies, processes, systems, and technologies necessary for the role. While working on problems within a limited scope, you should purposefully learn and gain experience. Demonstrating ownership and integrity in your work, building stable relationships, and contributing to the project as a team member are crucial aspects of this position. Ideal candidates should have a strong background in creating drafting/manufacturing drawings in SolidWorks and a comprehensive understanding of all design aspects and logics related to design and manufacturing using SolidWorks. Proficiency in SolidWorks is an added advantage, while a mandatory skill set includes expertise in SPM (Special Purpose Machine). Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office is also required.
