POSITION SUMMARY: This position is responsible for controlling the Quality of Game Change Solar’s products and its subassemblies, manufactured in India. Position is responsible for actively driving the quality control processes with suppliers and vendors of Game Change Solar India. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Carry out inspections of Magni (Zinc-Aluminium) coated fasteners. In Quality Engineer position, take the defined responsibility of Raw material, In-process, Out-going quality, a) Execution of Quality Plans of GCS India b) perform, attend or witness the quality inspections at supplier’s place as defined by quality manager c) Quality Resource control: Plan, monitor and get work done from TPI, measurement systems, equipment’s, tools and fixturesto execute quality plans. d) Drive process improvements & Implement Quality tools. Analyze quality issues, do root cause analysis and plan ICA, PCA and report it out (Trouble shoot quality related issues and develop sustainable actions & ensure implementation). Interact with international/local suppliers, labs etc directly on quality issues Prepare and/or approve Quality documentations like FAI, PDI, MDCC – help for speedy quality clearances Help the reporting manager to decide on the inspection and testing parameters, resources and methods Do continuous Quality improvement through 8D, 7QC, MSA and SPC tools, CP CPk studies. Bring continuousfocus on problem solving and improving process controls Implement product & process audits - Navigate the quality audits with team, identify NCs and closure of the open-ended elements Train the Inspectors and operators on Quality – extend training support to suppliers Learn industry best practices, identify the opportunities for improvements and implement it in own area Manage team of TPI, inspectors, train them and help achieve their quality performance and objectives Get involved in Daily Management and proactively reduce the risk to Quality & Delivery by working on resolving potential issues with along cross functional teams. FUNCTIONAL COMPETENCIES: Ability to understand drawings and execute inspection methodology and preparation of quality documents. Sound knowledge of Quality standards like ASTM, 8D method, FMEA techniques, 7 QC tools, SPC, MSA, etc Implementing error-proofing techniques- Pokayoke Data Collection and basic analytical skills EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: B.E. with 5+ years of Mechanical/Production engineering, Min. 3 years of experience in inspection of Fasteners and Solar PV Structure QA and QC is mandatory. RESPONSIBILITIES: C ommunicate and update AT needs to his/her supplier’s portfolio. Anticipate, track and analyse supplier’s acknowledgement. Anticipate potential Missing Parts and mitigate delivery issues through dedicated action plan. Monitor supplier’s commitment, deliveries and performance. Oversee vendor payments. Ensure the ERP logistics parameters accuracy for supplied articles. Align with the logistics specifications defined with the suppliers and the existing Supply-Chain rules such as: ABC classification, logistics flow type, stock target, lot size, delivery frequency, dynamic safety stock. Define priorities and anticipate missing parts with suppliers based on ERP related alert messages. Set-up appropriate routines with suppliers in order to communicate the needs and follow the last commitments. Responsible of proper contacts frequency and place (if needed he will organize a visit to the supplier's site; escalate to global sourcing team in case). Make sure the latest delivery information is available to all other functions inside the ERP. Define the appropriate logistics specification recommendations to be set in the ERP in order to comply with the stock targets and logistics constrains. Contribute to procurement center daily 5 minutes meeting and monthly QCD review. Identify the potential shortages that will be covered by a procurement center action plan. Define the priorities to secure the production and escalate to Management when needed. Secure that the agreed Non-conformities delivery lead time is fulfilled by the supplier and manage the quantity and documentation claims until complete solving. Contribute to the Missing Parts root cause analysis and take subsequent mitigation actions on own scope. Make sure that the parts are delivered on-time in full and control the supplier delivery performance - define an improvement action plan with the supplier when needed. Closing the DIP on time & ensure there’s no invoice >7 days. Oversee vendor payments by maintaining a tracker. Qualifications & Skills: Education & Experience 6~10 years of Experience in procurement in an organization using SAP. Graduation in Engineering / Supply Chain / Business Administration Experience of working in a similar corporate environment.
