About the role We are looking for a Backend Engineer who will play a pivotal role in developing and maintaining core backend systems, with a strong focus on implementing and integrating innovative features. This role spans across backend architecture, API design, automated testing, and seamless integration of experimental features into our production systems. You will collaborate closely with product managers, AI/ML teams, and frontend engineers to bring new capabilities to life, ensure their reliability, and scale them to support enterprise-grade deployments. Responsibilities Backend Development: Design, build, and maintain robust backend services and APIs. Work with modern frameworks and architectures (e.g., Node.js, Python, FastAPI, Express, etc.). Optimize performance, reliability, and scalability of existing services. Innovation Feature Integration: Work with AI/ML or R&D teams to integrate experimental features and services. Translate proof-of-concept prototypes into production-ready code. Ensure innovative components are modular, well-documented, and testable. Testing & Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain unit, integration, and end-to-end test coverage for backend services. Set up testing environments and CI pipelines for validation of new features. Collaborate with QA and DevOps to maintain a clean release pipeline. System Integration: Integrate new backend components with third-party systems (e.g., CRMs, analytics, email services). Ensure data consistency, security, and API compatibility across services. Work on webhooks, messaging queues, or Kafka topics as part of system communication layers. Collaboration & Documentation: Work closely with product, AI, and frontend teams to understand requirements and define backend scopes. Participate in code reviews, design reviews, and sprint planning. Document APIs, services, workflows, and testing processes. Requirements 3–6 years of experience in backend development. Proficiency in one or more backend languages (e.g., Node.js, Python, Go). Strong understanding of REST APIs, web services, and microservice architecture. Experience with databases (SQL or NoSQL), caching systems, and message queues. Experience in writing tests (unit, integration) and setting up CI/CD pipelines. Familiarity with tools like Docker, Git, Postman, Swagger, and monitoring tools. Comfortable working in agile environments with fast feature iteration. Qualifications Experience working on innovation or AI-driven projects. Knowledge of asynchronous processing using Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar. Exposure to test automation frameworks (e.g., Pytest, Mocha, Jest). Understanding of security, data privacy, and performance tuning best practices.
