As an EDM Machine Operator, your role involves setting up and operating EDM machines, ensuring high-quality output and adherence to safety protocols. Here is a breakdown of your key responsibilities: - Machine Operation & Setup: - Set up EDM machines (sinker and wire-cut types) based on technical specifications and engineering drawings. - Programming: - Program machines using suitable software or control panels. - Process Monitoring: - Monitor machining process to maintain high-quality output and identify any potential issues. - Quality Control & Inspection: - Inspect finished products using precision measuring instruments to meet required accuracy and quality standards. - Maintenance: - Perform routine and preventive maintenance on EDM equipment. - Material Handling: - Manage raw materials, parts, and electrodes without damaging the profile. - Safety & Compliance: - Follow safety protocols and comply with relevant quality and environmental management system requirements. Qualifications and Skills required for this role: - Education: A high school diploma or ITI qualification. - Experience: 1-2+ years of experience in the EDM machining field. - Skills: - Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. - Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and understand GD&T. - Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments with an accuracy of 0.01mm. - Knowledge of different EDM operations, flushing techniques, and carbon cleaning procedures.
