The Solar Field Executive is responsible for generating leads, conducting on-site assessments, presenting tailored solar solutions, and closing sales to help individuals and businesses adopt solar energy. They act as a key point of contact for customers, guiding them through the entire sales process from initial inquiry to installation. Key Responsibilities & Duties: Lead Generation and Prospecting: Identify and qualify new sales leads through various channels (e.g., cold calls, door-to-door marketing, referrals, networking). Conduct market research to identify potential customers and sales opportunities. Customer Engagement and Consultation: Visit client sites to conduct needs assessments and evaluate suitability for solar installations (e.g., roof orientation, shading, energy consumption). Educate customers on the benefits of solar energy, potential savings, and environmental impact. Provide accurate information about solar products, systems, and services. Tailor solar energy solutions to meet specific customer needs and budgets. Sales and Negotiation: Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations, proposals, and quotes. Negotiate prices, terms, and contracts to close sales deals. Achieve and exceed established sales targets and quotas. Follow up with customers throughout the sales cycle to ensure satisfaction. Technical Understanding & Site Assessment: Possess a strong understanding of solar technology, photovoltaic (PV) systems, and electrical components. Calculate potential solar array production for a site. Assess sites for feasibility and recommend appropriate solar equipment. Coordinate with internal teams (e.g., engineering, installation) to ensure seamless project execution. Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with customers. Provide excellent customer service and address any inquiries or concerns. Reporting and Administration: Prepare and submit detailed reports on project progress and efficiency. Maintain accurate records using CRM software and other sales tools. Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, regulations, and competitor activities. Qualifications: Education: High school diploma or equivalent is often required. A Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Environmental Science, Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field is often preferred. Experience: Proven track record in direct sales, preferably in the solar or renewable energy industry (1-3 years minimum is often preferred). Experience with solar panel installation and maintenance can be an advantage for some roles. Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of solar energy principles, PV technology, and electrical systems. Proficiency in using CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) and MS Office Suite. Basic proficiency in tools for site assessment (e.g., tape measures, compasses, design software). Provide regular updates and reports on project status, risks, and milestones. Lead client meetings and present project progress and outcomes. Commissioning & Handover: Oversee testing, inspection, and system commissioning. Ensure proper documentation for project close-out, warranties, and handover. Support operations and maintenance teams during project transition.
