Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer Location: Atlas Transformers India Limited(Por) Experience: 3 to 5 Year Job Summary: The Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, and optimization of mechanical components and assemblies for power and distribution transformers. This role involves creating detailed 3D models and manufacturing drawings, ensuring mechanical integrity, thermal performance, and manufacturability. The engineer will collaborate closely with electrical engineers, production, and quality teams to deliver high-performance transformer solutions that meet customer specifications and industry standards. Key Responsibilities: Develop mechanical designs for transformer components including tanks, radiators, conservators, core clamping structures, bushings, and enclosures. Create 3D models, drawings, and BOMs using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo, AutoCAD). Design structural and lifting supports in compliance with IEC/IEEE/ANSI standards. Perform thermal and structural calculations to ensure design meets mechanical and thermal requirements. Use FEA tools (e.g., ANSYS) for mechanical stress and vibration analysis. Prepare technical documentation and engineering reports. Ensure designs comply with industry codes (e.g., IEC 60076, ANSI C57, IS standards) and customer requirements. Work closely with electrical design, manufacturing, and supply chain teams during product development. Support prototyping, testing, and troubleshooting during the product validation phase. Contribute to cost reduction, manufacturability improvements, and innovation in mechanical design. Participate in design reviews, DFMEA, and other quality/process improvement initiatives. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. (Master’s preferred) Experience: 3–7 years of mechanical design experience, preferably in power/distribution transformer design or heavy electrical equipment manufacturing. Technical Skills: Proficient in CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo) Experience with FEA tools (e.g., ANSYS) Knowledge of thermal management, structural design, and vibration analysis Familiarity with welding, sheet metal, fabrication, and casting practices Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Good communication and teamwork abilities Attention to detail and ability to handle multiple projects Job Type: Full-time Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month Work Location: In person

Selection of appropriate materials and processes for custom parts. • Identification and selection of technology and off the shelf solutions that can be implemented to achieve the project goals. Mechanical design of customized solutions including; motor sizing, cylinder sizing, pneumatic/electro pneumatic and electrical routing. Tracking of project spend as compared to provided project budgets. Assist in the bring-up of machines using statistical analysis to effectively identify issues, determine root cause, and quickly develop resolutions Provide hands on assembly assistance and precise measurement techniques in order to collect data and identify root causes of machine bring-up issues. Project Execution: Oversee project workflow and support internal and external resources to ensure timely delivery of projects, expected quality, and allotted budget. • Support manufacture, build and validation of systems. • Utilize statistical methods for validation of systems. Create customer documentation. Maintain accurate records and files according to quality standard. Commission customized products and systems onsite and at customer facilities. Job requirements: Applicants must be a Citizen of India. A Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or similar related degree) is required. 2-5 years related job experience is preferred. Proficient in SolidWorks software and MS Office suite. Strong fundamental knowledge of mechanical design and its application in automated industrial designs, mechanism design, tooling and fixturing design, materials selection and process specification, Drawing generation and design documentation per standards. Should have critical thinking with exceptional problem solving skills. Ability to work independently or in a team environment. Efficiently organize and plan work tasks to meet company goals. Proactive, resourceful & highly motivated with good communication skills and ability to work in high output environment. Travel as required to support projects.
