Solar Design Engineer (Electrical)

As a Solar PV Designer, your primary responsibilities will include: - Conducting calculations and design tasks for PV ground mounted and roof top systems. - Preparing Bills of Materials (BOM) for solar electric projects. - Overseeing the execution of solar projects to ensure successful implementation. To excel in this role, you must possess the following knowledge and skills: - Proficiency in utilizing custom software tools to design PV systems. - Ability to accurately size systems and perform necessary calculations. - Creation of array layouts, electrical diagrams, and other technical drawings using CAD/PVsyst software. - Generating system production estimates through PVsyst reports. - Developing optimal designs that encompass various technical aspects such as SLD, conduit/wire scheduling, and 3-D renderings. - Ensuring designs comply with grid regulations and permitting requirements. - Building detailed bills of materials based on system specifications. - Collaborating effectively with sales, project management, and installation teams to meet client needs and internal deadlines. - Troubleshooting design and construction challenges encountered in the field.
