As an Assistant Tool Room Supervisor (On Contract), you will be responsible for providing specialist technical advice and support regarding tool design, manufacturing, and estimating under the guidance of the Tool Room In-charge. Your primary role will involve supporting production and engineering teams by addressing tooling/technical issues and ensuring the continuous operation of the tool room facilities. In this position, you will supervise and manage the daily activities of the tool room facilities and toolmakers to maintain a safe working environment in compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations. Your contribution to managing and ensuring the timely availability of tools is crucial for maintaining uninterrupted production and enhancing Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE). You will be expected to optimize the utilization of resources, including IT systems and databases for tracking all tools, implementing scheduled maintenance, and repair activities. By maintaining a computerized log of tool faults and service history, you will contribute to efficient tool management. Furthermore, your responsibilities will include organizing the storage of tools to uphold departmental standards for housekeeping, safety, and environmental practices. Ensuring proper organization of stock items, tool inserts, and spares will be essential to support seamless operations. As part of your role, you will be required to conduct root cause analysis to address and resolve problems promptly. Staying informed about any changes affecting tool room products and materials will enable you to provide relevant advice to stakeholders.
