The position of a System Test Development Engineer at Cisco Wireless requires a passionate and experienced individual dedicated to testing enterprise wireless products. The role involves validating the quality and adaptability of wireless platforms and solutions through comprehensive system-level testing. The work directly impacts the stability, scalability, and performance of networking solutions deployed in real-world customer environments. Responsibilities include solving challenging architecture problems to build scalable systems, working with firmware engineers and PM to create intuitive workflows, coordinating knowledge between teams, implementing systems to manage the Wireless network, identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks, and taking complete ownership of projects from conception to production release. Additionally, the role involves leading, mentoring, and sharing best practices with team members. Ideal candidates for this role possess 5+ years of experience in software or system quality assurance, with a focus on system-level and functional testing of enterprise wireless. They should have scripting or automation experience using Python, familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, expertise in crafting and driving solution tests, a deep understanding of networking protocols, attention to detail, strong debugging skills, proficiency in working with Linux systems, and a team player mentality. Additional qualifications include Cisco certifications, a Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field, experience with Cisco IOS, Catalyst wireless, Cisco products, and networking products.
