Software Test and Automation Engineer

As part of Teradata, you will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining fully automated tests to validate the Teradata Vantage Product across various platforms, components, and functions. Your responsibilities will include creating tests that mimic customer-like scenarios and workloads, as well as developing tests to reproduce and verify customer reported issues and fixes. You will also be tasked with identifying test escapes and developing test scenarios to address gaps, ensuring the reliability and resiliency of Vantage products through customer-centric validation at an integration level. You will work closely with the integration test team, contributing to strengthening product quality before release to customers. The team is composed of talented individuals with in-depth expertise in the product and platforms from a customer perspective. Collaboration with various Product teams and Customer Experience teams will be a key aspect of your role, reporting directly to the Senior Manager, Software Engineering. To be considered a qualified candidate for this position, you should have at least 3 years of industry experience in validating core database and analytics capabilities, preferably in integration and acceptance test phases. A degree in Computer Science or Electronics with knowledge of Database concepts & SQL is required. Additionally, experience in customer-centric testing on platforms like AWS, Azure, GC, or VMWare is preferred, along with proficiency in Python, OOPS concepts, Unix/Linux, and CI/CD tools like Jenkins and GitHub. Familiarity with AI/ML and Analytics, strong debugging skills, and the ability to learn new technologies quickly are also essential qualifications. Ideal candidates will have experience in developing customer-centric automated test cases leveraging AI capabilities, familiarity with test automation frameworks and CI/CD pipelines, and expertise in integration testing. Knowledge of software engineering practices and metrics, the ability to influence without authority, and adherence to documented specifications and plans are highly valued skills.
