We're Hiring Software Project Engineer (Apps PE | Android | Chrome OS)

Apps Project Engineer (PE)

Android Apps, Core OS, Multimedia, Sensors, Connectivity, UX, and Power/Performance

Key Responsibilities

Program & Feature Ownership

• Drive end-to-end ownership of app-layer integration
• Ensure feature readiness, regression stability & performance KPIs
• Track maturity across releases and close blockers

Engineering Coordination

• Act as a bridge between internal Qualcomm teams, Google Chrome OS teams, and OEM partners
• Coordinate debugging across

  Apps ? Framework ? HAL ? SoC

  layers

Debugging & Triage

• Diagnose and route issues related to:
• App Crashes
• UI/UX freezes
• Camera/Video/Audio Issues
• Connectivity & Sensor Regressions
• Performance Degradation

System-Level Validation

• Validate key system behaviours like

  App launch time, concurrency, always-connected modes, resource usage & multi-window experience

• Work with automation teams to define test coverage

Release Readiness

• Own feature KPIs, stability metrics, and commercialization support
• Perform bug trend analysis and support OEM/field escalations

Required Skill Set

Android App Layer, AOSP & system services

Hands-on debugging experience using:

• logcat, dmesg, bugreports, QXDM, Perfetto, Systrace
• Experience in:
• Crash/ANR triage
• Android app lifecycle and UI frameworks
• Android performance tuning
• SoCFramework interaction debugging
• Strong communication and multi-team coordination skills

Good to Have

Chrome OS / ARC++ / Chrome AL

Hamoa-class SoCs

Multimedia pipeline understanding (Camera/Audio/Video)

Experience working directly with Google/Android ecosystem partners
