Software Engineer / Specialist

As a Software Developer at Amdocs, you will play a key role in the design, development, modification, debugging, and maintenance of software systems. Your responsibilities will include designing, developing, modifying, and debugging software code based on functional, non-functional, and technical design specifications. It will be essential to adhere to Amdocs software engineering standards, relevant software development methodologies, and release processes to ensure that the code is maintainable, scalable, and supportable. Additionally, you will be required to demonstrate the software products to stakeholders. Your daily tasks will involve investigating issues by reviewing and debugging code, providing fixes and workarounds, and ensuring that changes are operable to maintain existing software solutions. Collaboration within a team will be crucial as you participate in peer code reviews, offer comments and suggestions, and work with cross-functional teams to achieve common goals. You will be accountable for the technical aspects of your work products within an application and provide technical support during the design phase for new requirements. The ideal candidate for this role should hold a Bachelor's degree in Science/IT/Computer Science or equivalent and possess 3-10 years of professional experience in Tandem technologies like COBOL, Netbatch, Pathway, ENFORM, SCOBOL, TACL, TAL, SQL, and FUP. Knowledge of Java and C is considered a plus. Experience in maintenance, support, and development in Tandem applications is required, along with the ability to work shifts (1-10 or 3-12) with flexibility as per business needs. Providing production support to resolve job abends for customer applications is also a key aspect of this role.
