Software Engineer - Network Protocols & Linux Systems

As a Software Engineer specializing in Routing & Switching at Juniper, you will be an integral part of a dynamic team that is shaping the vision for next-generation data center and enterprise switching solutions. Your role will involve contributing throughout the full software development lifecycle for Juniper's routing and switching product lines, starting from concept creation to deployment. Key Responsibilities: - Collaborate closely with product management and cross-functional teams to define detailed software functional specifications and system architecture for new product features. - Design, implement, and test software components, focusing on Layer2/Layer3 protocols and switching features. - Conduct unit testing, integration, and debugging of networking protocols and related software modules. - Contribute to the advancement of Juniper's software platforms by embracing modern development tools and practices. Required Qualifications: - Possess a minimum of 5-10 years of experience in software development within Layer2/Layer3 networking or related systems. - Demonstrate strong proficiency in C/C++, data structures, algorithms, and operating system concepts, particularly in Linux/FreeBSD environments. - Show proven problem-solving and debugging skills in complex networking environments. - Have hands-on experience with at least one routing protocol such as OSPF, IS-IS, BGP, or MPLS signaling protocols like RSVP, LDP, or multicast protocols like PIM, IGMP. - Familiarity with Layer2 technologies such as EVPN, VXLAN, VPLS, L2VPN is considered a plus. - Display self-motivation with a proactive mindset and a willingness to learn new technologies. - Hold a Bachelors's or Masters's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
