Software Engineer III/SSE

Role Overview: As a member of the Data Platform and Analytics team at Guidewire, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and running cloud-native data platform and analytics SaaS services. This role will involve hands-on coding for more than 90% of your time, focusing on building large-scale real-time stream processing systems, microservices, and analytics solutions. You will also be tasked with owning Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Deployment (CD) for your services, ensuring scalability, availability, and data security, as well as triaging and resolving code defects and maintaining secure code. Key Responsibilities: - Design, develop, and run cloud-native data platform and analytics SaaS services - Hands-on coding for more than 90% of the time - Design and build large-scale real-time stream processing systems - Design, develop, and run microservices and analytics SaaS solutions - Own Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Deployment (CD) for your services - Own scalability, availability, and data security for your services - Triage and resolve code defects - Maintain secure code and resolve app security findings Qualifications Required: - 6+ years of hands-on software development experience - Strong command over Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, Multithreading, and deployment on preferably AWS or public cloud - Solid foundation in Data Structures, Algorithms, and building performance-optimized systems - Familiarity with modern front-end frameworks like React.js or Angular is a plus - Working knowledge with Kubernetes, Docker, and Terraform is a plus - Experience working with relational databases, Redshift, or other scalable data stores - Understanding of distributed systems concepts and principles (consistency and availability, liveness and safety, durability, reliability, fault-tolerance, consensus algorithms) - Ability to work in an agile fast-paced environment - Demonstrated ability to embrace AI and apply it to your role as well as use data-driven insights to drive innovation, productivity, and continuous improvement If you are passionate about building large-scale multi-tenant cloud-native data platforms and have prior experience in data platforms/data lakes and analytics SaaS services, and expertise in modern Java, microservices architecture, and frontend technologies like Angular or React.js, then this opportunity at Guidewire might be the right fit for you.
