Software Engineer III - Java, AWS & Data Engineering

As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the AI/ML & Data Platform team, you will serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. Your responsibilities will include executing software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with the ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems. You will create secure and high-quality production code and maintain algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems. In this role, you will produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development. You will gather, analyze, synthesize, and develop visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems. Proactively identifying hidden problems and patterns in data and using these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture will be a key part of your responsibilities. Additionally, you will contribute to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies, fostering a team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect. Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills include formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years of applied experience. Experience in building complex distributed systems using Java (11/17) on AWS, knowledge of AWS products/services and Kubernetes/container technologies for specific workloads, and a good understanding of established patterns such as stability patterns/anti-patterns, event-based architecture, CQRS, and process orchestration are essential. Real-world experience in building applications on AWS across multi-AZ, multi-region, and multi-cloud vendor environments, as well as experience in designing architectures that align with business engineering teams" needs, are also required. An excellent understanding of modern engineering practices to leverage Public Cloud benefits, such as auto-scaling, with a focus on end-to-end engineering experience supported by tooling and automation is necessary. Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills include familiarity with modern front-end technologies and exposure to cloud technologies.,
