Software Engineer II - Mainframes- DB2, Cobol, IMS

As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer & Community Banking Team, you play a crucial role in designing and delivering cutting-edge technology products while ensuring security, stability, and scalability. Your responsibilities include but are not limited to: - Executing software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with the ability to think innovatively - Creating secure and high-quality production code while maintaining synchronous algorithms - Producing architecture and design artifacts for complex applications and ensuring design constraints are met - Gathering, analyzing, and synthesizing data sets to drive continuous improvement of software applications - Proactively identifying hidden problems and patterns in data for coding hygiene and system architecture improvements - Contributing to software engineering communities and events exploring new technologies - Fostering a team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect Qualifications and skills required for this role: - Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts with at least 3 years of applied experience - Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability - Proficiency in COBOL, JCL, DB2/IMS, VSAM, CICS - Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a corporate environment using modern programming languages and database querying languages - Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security - Knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline - Experience in the Banking domain Preferred qualifications and skills include: - Familiarity with modern front-end technologies - Exposure to cloud technologies - Experience with general-purpose programming languages like Core Java, Spring frameworks, REST API, Cloud, Microservices, AngularJS, Bootstrap, React, and other web technologies,
