Software Engineer II , IAM

Role Overview: As a Software Engineer-II for the Identity and Access Management (IAM) Squad at Postman, your primary responsibility will be to contribute to the development of a secure, reliable, and scalable IAM platform. You will play a crucial role in building and optimizing authentication standards and protocols like OAuth2.0, OIDC, SCIM, and SAML. Additionally, you will research areas such as role engineering, session management, and implement standardized formats to meet cross-functional authentication and authorization needs. Your collaboration with a diverse team will be essential in developing APIs and products to empower the product with seamless, secure, and reliable methods of enterprise onboarding. Key Responsibilities: - Contribute to the development of secure, reliable, and scalable IAM platform components. - Build and optimize authentication standards and protocols such as OAuth2.0, OIDC, SCIM, SAML, etc. - Research role engineering, session management, and implement standardized formats for cross-functional authentication and authorization needs. - Empower the product with seamless, secure, and reliable methods of enterprise onboarding. - Collaborate with a cross-functional team to develop APIs and products. Qualifications Required: - 3-6 years of experience in developing complex, distributed software applications, preferably at Postman's scale. - Proficiency in Javascript, node.js, or other backend technologies with familiarity in developing and integrating with microservices. - Strong understanding of web and database fundamentals, especially in optimizing queries, schema design, indexing, and caching. - Bonus points for a good understanding of authentication products, protocols, and methods such as OAuth, SAML, OIDC, and previous experience with User/Team management, role engineering, and access control. - A mindset for learning, sharing knowledge within and across teams, a product-oriented mindset, and empathy for users.
