Software Engineer II (Backend), IAM Platform

The Identity and Access Management (IAM) team at Postman is integral to the ecosystem, responsible for authenticating and authorizing every user request. Managing user and team features like login, signup, SSO, SCIM, RBAC, and MFA, the team oversees top services handling over 1 billion API calls daily. The IAM Platform team ensures the security, reliability, performance, availability, and scalability of systems for millions of users, enabling reliable collaboration at scale. Joining us means contributing to developing secure, reliable, performant, and scalable IAM services and components. You will collaborate with product managers, UX designers, quality, security, and platform engineers to build APIs and products. Developing foundational tools, frameworks, and systems to support organizational needs, you will work on research areas like role engineering and session management. Your product-focused and platform-engineering mindset will emphasize empathizing with users. If you have 3-6 years of experience in developing complex and distributed software applications at scale, proficiency in Javascript and a server-side programming language, and a profound understanding of web fundamentals and microservices architecture, you are the ideal candidate. Strong knowledge of database fundamentals, self-motivation, a creative mindset, and the ability to take ownership of assignments are essential. Experience with NodeJS, ReactJS, IAM domain, container orchestration, CI/CD, monitoring tools, and cloud infrastructure is a plus.
