Job Description

As a Software Engineer in the Catalyst Engineering IOS XE Platform Independent team at Cisco, you will have the opportunity to develop and integrate high-performance system software for Enterprise Switching & Routers, Service Provider Routing Platforms. Your role will involve working on IOS XE OS, a critical component of many Enterprise devices, and collaborating with a vibrant technical community to drive innovation and personal growth. **Key Responsibilities:** - Develop and integrate products for leading Enterprises using C in a multi-threaded environment - Design, implement, and maintain SDKs for seamless integration between software applications and hardware/network layers - Work on developing Networking protocols and utilize debugging techniques and tools like GDB - Collaborate on Linux-based build systems, Makefiles, and integrating SDKs - Gain exposure to groundbreaking technologies, platforms, and AI/ML tools and frameworks - Experience the exhilaration of taking a product through development and integration **Qualifications Required:** - 4-8 years of experience in internetworking technologies and applications - Strong software development skills in C, problem-solving abilities, and knowledge of Data Structures - Experience with SDK Development, Networking protocols, and debugging techniques - Familiarity with Linux-based build systems, Makefiles, and SDK integration - Exposure to Cisco OS XR, XE, or NXOS would be a plus - Experience or interest in AI/ML tools and frameworks - Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field (MS preferred) Cisco is a company that revolutionizes how data and infrastructure connect and protect organizations in the AI era and beyond.
