We are currently working on a highly ambitious and impactful project that aims to reimagine the functional architecture supporting the firm's trading business. This project is designed to empower the company's growth over the next two decades by creating an extensible and scalable platform that enhances operational efficiencies. The project is rooted in engineering principles and aligns with the firm's core technology strategy. As part of this project, we are seeking engineers to contribute to both the infrastructure development and the core business model. On the infrastructure side, you will be involved in establishing platform capabilities and developing the development environment. On the core business side, your responsibilities will include creating an extensible model that represents the firm's business, developing core services, and collaborating with business teams to enhance their services. In this role, you will have the opportunity to build an in-depth understanding of the firm's businesses and drive the development of core models and services. By taking a principled approach to development, you will deliver a range of services that are cost-effective to maintain and extend. Your impact will involve: - Building software services and libraries with security and maintainability at the core - Collaborating with engineers and experts to develop business models - Innovating solutions to complex business problems - Influencing teams to challenge existing practices - Managing the software lifecycle from requirements to release Basic Qualifications: - Proficiency in Java with 2+ years of experience - Experience with Distributed systems - Familiarity with SDLC practices and tooling, including version control and CI/CD - Strong communication skills for technical concepts - Teamworking and collaboration skills for diverse teams Preferred Qualifications: - Knowledge of Cloud technologies, specifically GCP - Experience with Containerization, specifically Kubernetes - Familiarity with open source technologies - Experience in monitoring, measuring, auditing, and supporting software Goldman Sachs is committed to leveraging the expertise, capital, and ideas of its people to drive growth for clients, shareholders, and communities.
