Software Engineer-Analyst

As a Site Reliability Engineer at Goldman Sachs, your role involves combining software and systems engineering to build and run large-scale, fault-tolerant systems. You will be responsible for ensuring the availability and reliability of critical platform services, collaborating with internal and external users to build sustainable production systems that can adapt to the fast-paced, global business environment. Your key responsibilities will include: - Developing and maintaining platforms to enable GS Engineering Teams to meet Observability requirements and SLA Management - Designing, developing, and operating distributed systems for observability of mission-critical applications and platform services - Providing alerting, metrics and monitoring, log collection, and analysis, as well as tracing functions for global engineering teams - Working with internal customers, vendors, product owners, and SREs to design and develop large-scale distributed systems for alert generation, metrics collection, log collection, and trace events - Running a production environment across cloud and on-premises data centers, defining observability features and driving their implementation Qualifications required for this role include: - 2+ years of relevant work experience - Proficiency in Java, Python, Go, JavaScript, and Spring framework - Proficiency in using Terraform for Infrastructure deployment and management - Excellent programming skills, including developing, debugging, testing, and optimizing code - Experience with algorithms, data structures, and software design - Experience with distributed systems design, maintenance, and troubleshooting - Knowledge of cloud native solutions in AWS or GCP - Experience with tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and PagerDuty - Experience with databases such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Elasticsearch - Experience with open-source messaging systems like RabbitMQ and/or Kafka - Systems experience in UNIX/Linux and networking, especially in scaling for performance and debugging complex distributed systems,
