Mainframe Expert with over 10 years of experience in enterprise-grade mainframe systems and proven exposure to cloud technologies . The ideal candidate should be proficient in mainframe application development and modernization, with hands-on experience in integrating or migrating legacy systems to cloud or hybrid environments. What will your job look like Key Responsibilities: Lead design, development, and support of complex mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, and VSAM . Architect and implement mainframe-to-cloud integrations and assist in legacy modernization initiatives. Collaborate with cloud architects and infrastructure teams to define and execute migration or integration strategies involving platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP . Analyze and optimize the performance of mainframe workloads and propose modernization opportunities. Support cloud-native services interfacing with mainframe systems via APIs, MQ, or other middleware. Guide junior developers and act as a subject matter expert (SME) for mainframe systems. Ensure system stability, high availability, and compliance with security policies. Maintain comprehensive technical documentation and participate in architectural reviews. Manage stakeholder communication and support delivery of cross-functional IT solutions. All you need is... Required Skills & Qualifications: 10+ years of experience in mainframe technologies including: COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, VSAM Experience in system design, application performance tuning, and debugging in a large-scale enterprise environment. Strong understanding of mainframe DevOps tools and automation. 2+ years of experience working with or integrating cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) . Experience in cloud migration of mainframe applications or building hybrid solutions. Familiarity with middleware technologies such as IBM MQ , APIs (REST/SOAP), and data exchange formats (JSON, XML). Proficient in mainframe utilities (e.g., File-AID, Abend-AID, Endevor, etc.). Excellent communication, leadership, and analytical skills. All you need is.... Preferred Qualifications: Experience with cloud-native development , containers (Docker), or Kubernetes. Knowledge of REXX , Assembler , or Easytrieve is a plus. Exposure to CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, Git) in a mainframe or hybrid environment. Education: Bachelor s or Master s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
