Society for Women’s Action and Training Initiatives (SWATI) www.swati.org.in About the Project The public health system is now recognised as one of the most critical sites for addressing domestic violence. Based on its extensive experience of working on Violence against Women (VAW), SWATI initiated in 2016 an intervention research project titled “Making Rural Health Care Delivery System Responsive to Violence against Women.” As part of the project, Crisis Intervention and Support Cells for VAW survivors have been set up in government hospitals. Each cell is staffed with a counsellor and para-legal worker . The cells maintain an extensive database with an elaborate MIS to monitor and analyse functioning within the hospital system. Training and orientation of hospital staff and frontline health workers is integral to setting up the cell. In two and a half years, the cells received 900+ cases . For 2023–2025, the goal is to consolidate the rural health model for policy advocacy and scale-up. SWATI is recruiting women professionals with 2–3 years of experience for this project, which focuses on developing a rural health sector response to Violence Against Women (VAW) . Role · Coordinate with hospital management for the effective functioning of cells. · Manage and update the MIS. Work closely with the team at Cell level and provide guidance and support through coordination with external agencies.. · Conduct monthly program review and planning meetings with the project team · Design and conduct small studies to improve and inform the project outcomes · Monitor the project budget and expenditure and prepare six monthly narrative and financial reports for donor compliance.
