Social Media Intern

About the role:

We are looking for a creative and motivated Social Media Intern to support our digital marketing initiatives. This role is ideal for someone passionate about content creation, digital trends, and audience engagement, particularly in the context of sports and youth culture.

Responsibilities:

• Create engaging and visually appealing content (static posts, stories, reels) for platforms like Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter using tools like Canva

• Manage the social media calendar and ensure timely, consistent posting

• Write compelling captions and copy tailored to each platform’s tone and audience

• Monitor all social media accounts, engage with followers, and respond to comments and messages

• Track basic performance metrics such as reach, engagement, and follower growth

• Stay updated with social media trends, viral formats, and relevant hashtags to keep the content fresh and effective

• Conduct competitor research and stay up-to-date with social media trends and best practices

• Support in planning campaigns and brainstorming new content ideas

Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Marketing, Mass Communication, Journalism, or a related field

• Familiarity with Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, and their respective best practices

• Basic understanding of tools like Hootsuite for post scheduling

• Comfortable using Canva or Adobe Express for content design

Skills:

• Strong written and visual communication skills

• Creativity and attention to detail

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks

Bonus Points:

• Interest in sports, youth trends, or digital content creation

• Prior experience handling a social media page (personal, academic, or freelance)
