As a Java Developer with up to 4 years of experience, you will be a part of the HCM Technology team at Goldman Sachs. The team is responsible for researching, designing, testing, and building world-class applications and practices across the Goldman Sachs People Function. Your role will involve collaborating with the business to solve critical problems using the latest web technology stacks, machine learning, and data analytics. You will contribute to driving decisions through quality software engineering practices. Your key responsibilities will include designing and developing applications using Java/J2EE technologies, working on a Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) platform, and staying updated with the latest web technologies. You will be expected to follow the firm's Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) guidelines, conduct business and functional analysis of applications, and provide support for application development within a globally distributed team. To excel in this role, you should possess a strong understanding of Java/J2EE concepts, have experience with ORM frameworks such as Hibernate/Mybatis, and be familiar with Web services and SOA architecture. Additionally, knowledge of Web technologies like Angular, JavaScript, and jQuery, as well as proficiency in writing basic to medium complex database queries, will be beneficial. Your analytical and problem-solving skills will be essential for success in this position. In addition to technical skills, interpersonal skills are crucial for this role. You should demonstrate an aptitude for both technology and business, possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, and be able to collaborate effectively with managers and team members globally. A high level of motivation, initiative, and the ability to work independently will be key attributes for this position. A preferred qualification for this role is experience with HR systems. The ideal candidate will hold a BE/M Tech degree with up to 4 years of experience in Java/J2EE development.
