The SOC Analyst I position within the Information Technology department at Berkadia involves playing a crucial role in supporting the company's global security infrastructure. Reporting to the Manager, Cyber Security, you will collaborate closely with the US onsite team. Your primary responsibility will be to monitor systems effectively to identify potential threats. As a SOC Analyst I, you will promptly respond to alerts and conduct triage operations to assess the nature of the threat and determine the appropriate response. Additionally, you will be tasked with scanning systems for vulnerabilities, managing monitoring tools, and following established procedures for detecting, classifying, escalating, and reporting incidents. Your key responsibilities will include: - Monitoring and correlating data to identify events of interest using various tools such as system event logs, SIEM, IPS/IDS logs, network traffic, and anti-virus software. - Responding to security incidents and conducting investigations within defined service level targets. - Demonstrating expertise in security areas like SIEM, IDS, and APT, and driving containment strategies during data loss incidents. - Tackling advanced cyber threats such as botnets and advanced persistent threats (APTs). - Conducting basic forensic activities and performing root cause analysis for incidents. - Providing tuning recommendations based on threat information reviews and findings during investigations. - Staying updated on current security threats and vulnerabilities to relevant information systems. Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field. - 3 to 7 years of experience in supporting complex global environments. - Accredited Certification in Incident Handling (CEH, GCIH, ECIH). - Hands-on experience in investigation and log analysis. - Familiarity with IT security technologies and defensive mechanisms. - Knowledge of emerging security threats, attack vectors, SSL/TLS, encryption methods, and security tools. In addition to technical skills, interpersonal skills are essential for success in this role. You should be passionate, self-motivated, detail-oriented, and results-driven. Strong communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills are crucial, along with the ability to prioritize tasks in a high-pressure environment.
