Key Responsibilities: • Plan and supervise fabric cutting as per order sheets. • Ensure fabric is used efficiently with minimum wastage. • Allocate cut pieces to different vendors as per their capacity and timelines. • Keep track of issued panels, quantities, and ensure vendors deliver on time. • Coordinate with vendors daily and resolve production delays. • Maintain records of fabric stock, cutting, and vendor allocation. • Share regular updates/reports with management.
Role Overview: The Merchandiser for Kids Clothing will be responsible for end-to-end product development, vendor management, and ensuring timely execution of kidswear collections from concept to delivery. This role requires strong knowledge of fabrics, trims, costing, production timelines, and a keen sense of fashion trends in childrens apparel. Key Responsibilities: Product Development & Sampling • Work closely with the design team to develop seasonal kidswear collections (ethnic, casual, festive, and occasion wear). • Source fabrics, trims, and accessories suitable for kidswear (soft-hand feel, child-safe materials, certified dyes). • Coordinate sample development with vendors/factories and ensure timely approvals. • Maintain T&A (Time & Action) calendars for sampling and production. Vendor & Supplier Management • Identify and negotiate with suppliers for fabrics, trims, and finished goods. • Ensure vendors comply with quality, safety, and ethical standards for kidswear. • Build strong relationships to ensure cost efficiency and timely deliveries. Costing & Pricing • Prepare product costing sheets, ensuring target margins are met. • Negotiate prices with suppliers while maintaining product quality. • Support management in pricing strategies for retail/e-commerce. Production & Quality Control • Monitor production closely to ensure adherence to approved samples. • Coordinate with QC teams to conduct inline and final inspections. • Troubleshoot production issues and minimize delays or rejections. Market & Trend Research • Stay updated on kidswear fashion trends, consumer preferences, and competitors’ collections. • Provide inputs to the design and marketing team for new collection planning.
