Description
You should have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field such as B.E./B.Tech/MCA and at least 8 years of relevant experience in database administration. As a Database Administrator, you will be responsible for the installation of SQL Server on cluster environments, ensuring complete knowledge of backup and recovery procedures, implementing database security policies, and managing high availability solutions such as Clustering, Mirroring, Log Shipping, and Always On. Your role will involve performance monitoring and tuning, troubleshooting database issues, and providing 24x7 support for critical production systems. You should be proficient in configuring and maintaining database servers, monitoring system health and performance, and automating regular processes to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security. Additionally, you will be required to assist developers with query tuning and schema refinement, perform scheduled maintenance tasks, support release deployment activities after hours, and work with Windows servers, including Active Directory. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, along with the ability to work independently, adapt to changing environments, and effectively multitask. It is expected that you have a basic understanding of Cloud Technologies such as Azure, AWS, and GCP, including taking backups for databases on Azure Blob Storages from local servers. You should also be able to decode Execution Plans for MSSQL Server, be familiar with the new features of SQL 2019 and 2022, and have knowledge of database consolidation, migrations, and licensing for MSSQL. Previous experience with Azure SQL and migration from on-premise to Azure environments will be advantageous.,
