This is a sales role with a clear path to something bigger: if you consistently deliver results, add strategic value, and show the mindset of a founder, the role can evolve into Founding Partner with long-term upside. If that bar isn’t met, you’ll continue to grow on the Business Development path. As BDM, you will: Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting to closing. Work in a dual-sourcing model : balance company-provided vetted leads with your self-sourced pipeline. Meet regularly with founders, HR heads, and L&D leaders across Bengaluru to present Smartslate’s Strategic Skills Architecture. Build a structured CRM process , maintain 3× pipeline coverage, and report progress. Contribute to the go-to-market strategy , pricing feedback, and positioning. Represent Smartslate at startup events and HR/L&D forums. Qualifications 3–5 years of B2B tech sales experience with a proven track record of hitting or exceeding targets. Strong prospecting ability and confidence in both company-provided and self-generated leads . Excellent command of English —clear communicator, confident in presentations and proposals. Consultative selling style; comfortable with custom-priced, enterprise-grade solutions . Entrepreneurial drive: resilient, resourceful, and able to thrive in a fast-paced startup setting.
