As a SmartCOMM Developer, you will be responsible for designing and developing complex document templates and layouts using SmartCOMM tools such as Communication Designer, Template Editor, Data Model Designer, and Interactive Editor. Your role will involve integrating SmartCOMM with external systems like Guidewire, Salesforce, Duck Creek, etc. through APIs or batch processing. Additionally, you will configure and maintain Data Models, Data Transforms, Content Rules, and Layout Mappings based on business requirements gathered from collaborating with business analysts. It will be crucial for you to optimize performance and ensure best practices in document generation and rendering. You will be expected to create and execute unit tests, functional tests, and regression tests for SmartCOMM communications. Conducting end-to-end testing including data input, template rendering, and output validation in various formats like PDF, email, SMS, etc. will be part of your responsibilities. Collaborating with QA teams to identify bugs and ensure smooth releases is essential. Validating integrations with upstream/downstream systems using XML/JSON data files and maintaining test documentation, test cases, and traceability matrices are also key aspects of your role. Providing technical support for SmartCOMM configurations during development and post-go-live phases, participating in agile ceremonies, documenting solutions, and contributing to knowledge sharing and continuous improvement initiatives are part of your support and collaboration responsibilities. Your technical skills should include proficiency in SmartCOMM Tools like Communication Designer, Template Editor, Data Model Designer, Layout Designer, and Interactive Communications. You should have experience working with document output formats such as PDF, Word, Email, and SMS, as well as languages and markup like XML, XSLT, JSON, HTML, and CSS. Integration skills in REST/SOAP APIs, file-based integrations in batch mode, and testing tools like JIRA, Zephyr, Postman, SOAP UI, SmartCOMM Preview, and Simulator are required. Familiarity with version control tools like Git, Bitbucket, SVN, and CI/CD & DevOps tools such as Jenkins, Azure DevOps, and GitHub Actions (preferred) is expected. Candidates with experience in insurance platforms such as Guidewire or Duck Creek, or CRM systems like Salesforce, will have an added advantage. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, along with at least 3-6 years of hands-on experience in SmartCOMM development and testing is required. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, multitasking abilities, excellent communication, and documentation skills are essential for this role. Preferred certifications such as SmartCOMM Developer Certification, ISTQB Certified Tester, and Agile/Scrum Certification are considered a plus.
