Key Responsibilities
Create hand sketches for weaving designs, borders, pallus, motifs, and layouts.
Convert design ideas into weaving-friendly sketches for loom production.
Work closely with designers and weavers to ensure accuracy of patterns.
Prepare colorways and variations as per buyer or client requirements.
Maintain design records, sketch books, and references.
Ensure quality and precision in motifs, repeats, and measurements.
Assist in developing new concepts based on trends, themes, and traditional patterns.
Coordinate with weaving and sampling teams for design execution.
Required Skills
Strong hand-sketching and textile motif drawing skills.
Basic knowledge of weaving techniques, jacquard layouts, and fabric structure.
Good sense of color combinations and pattern placement.
Attention to detail and ability to work on intricate designs.
Creativity and understanding of traditional Indian textile aesthetics.
Ability to follow instructions and meet deadlines.
Qualification
Diploma/Certificate in Textile Design, Fine Arts, Handloom, or related field.
Fresher or 1–2 years of experience in weaving or textile sketching preferred.
