Chemist – Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) Location: Sambalpur Department: Operations / Environment & Safety Position Type: Full-time Experience Level: Fresher (0–1 Year) Job Summary: We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Chemist (Fresher) to join our team at the Sewage Treatment Plant. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting laboratory testing, monitoring water quality parameters, ensuring compliance with environmental standards, and supporting the smooth operation of STP processes. Key Responsibilities: Collect and analyse water and wastewater samples as per standard operating procedures. Perform chemical and microbiological tests to ensure treated water meets regulatory norms. Maintain accurate records of test results and prepare daily/weekly water quality reports. Support plant operations by providing timely data to the operations team. Monitor chemical dosing levels and assist in maintaining inventory of laboratory consumables. Assist in calibration, cleaning, and maintenance of laboratory instruments. Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations. Learn and adhere to ISO standards and quality management systems. Qualifications & Skills: Education: B.Sc., Environmental Science, or related field. Understanding of basic chemistry concepts and laboratory safety. Familiarity with water/wastewater analysis methods (preferred, but not mandatory). Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Good communication skills, attention to detail, and willingness to learn. Work Environment: Plant-based role; involves working in both laboratory and field environments.
