As the Lead Dam and Hydropower Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for managing the design and engineering efforts for various dam and hydropower structures such as gravity dams, arch dams, embankments, and appurtenant works. Your role will involve overseeing detailed engineering tasks for large hydro and Pumped Storage Plant (PSP) projects, including feasibility studies, Detailed Project Reports (DPRs), and construction-level drawings. You will provide technical leadership in the field of hydraulic structures, intake/outlet works, penstocks, spillways, surge shafts, and powerhouses. This will include supervising structural analysis, hydrological modeling, geotechnical investigations, and hydraulic design to ensure the successful implementation of projects. In addition, you will be required to coordinate with internal teams, external consultants, and clients to ensure alignment on project deliverables. Your responsibilities will also include reviewing and approving engineering drawings, reports, Bill of Quantities (BOQs), specifications, and tender documents. Ensuring compliance with national and international standards such as IS, ICOLD, USBR, FERC, etc., will be a crucial aspect of your role. You will implement quality assurance processes during engineering and documentation phases to uphold the highest standards of quality in the projects you oversee. Furthermore, you will support site teams during construction by providing engineering clarifications and design adjustments as needed. Your role will also involve attending client and statutory review meetings to provide expert input and ensure project success. As the ideal candidate, you should possess a strong understanding of hydraulic and structural design principles related to dams and hydropower components. Experience with design codes, numerical modeling tools (e.g., SAP2000, STAAD, PLAXIS, HEC-RAS), and CAD software will be essential for this role. An ability to interpret geological and hydrological data, along with proven skills in managing multi-disciplinary teams and engineering schedules, will be advantageous. Preferred qualifications for this role include a minimum of 3 full lifecycle projects (from DPR to construction) in hydropower or PSP. Exposure to pumped storage plant layouts and reversible turbine systems, as well as experience with international projects or joint ventures, will be considered a plus. Your success in this role will be supported by your excellent written and verbal communication skills, which are essential for effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.,
